Before Renting a Suitcase: 24 vs 28 Inches and Incheon Airport Plans

Check real dimensions and packed weight, then plan packing, airport handover and the return after your trip.

Before Renting a Suitcase: 24 vs 28 Inches and Incheon Airport Plans

Before renting a large suitcase, look at your belongings and ticket’s baggage allowance, not only the number of nights. A 24- or 28-inch label does not tell you whether a bag is accepted in the cabin or hold. This guide covers size choices and handover planning for travel through Incheon Airport. LOCARORA currently has no suitcase rental listing.

Choose 24 or 28 inches around your belongings

Size to comparePacking and movement checks
Around 20 inchesCompare for light packing and frequent moves. A cabin-bag label is not a substitute for dimensions.
24 inchesCheck space after clothes and toiletries, empty weight and your checked allowance.
28 inchesCompare for more luggage or shared packing. Check loaded weight, vehicle space and hotel access.

Compare actual dimensions with your ticket

Measure height, width and depth including wheels and handles. Korean Air’s carry-on guidance lists 115cm in total or 55×40×20cm and 10kg total for economy, but this does not apply to every ticket. Check checked-bag count, size, weight and extra charges for your own route and fare.

Leave room for shopping and the journey home. A full large bag may exceed the weight allowance and be difficult in a small car or accommodation with stairs. Check airline battery rules separately for electronic devices and power banks; suitcase size is not the relevant battery rule.

Plan how you will move belongings at the airport

If a provider offers home delivery, arrange arrival early enough to pack before departure. If airport handover is actually offered, check the terminal, meeting time and room to repack. An airport return after coming home may require a separate bag for the onward journey. Not every provider offers airport handover or hotel delivery.

Check wheels and handles, then the return deadline

Check wheels, handles, zips and locks at receipt and record existing damage. Confirm lock operation, deposit, late fees and liability for airline damage with the rental provider. Find out whether the return deadline means dispatch or arrival at the provider, and keep the receipt. If baggage is damaged, follow the airline’s reporting procedure.
