Free airport shuttle and collection

Take the free shuttle from Shimojishima Airport to the branch, about five minutes away. Collect and return the vehicle at the branch, rather than at the airport terminal.

Collection and return: 09:00–18:00

Tell the branch your expected airport arrival time. At collection, staff check licences, explain protection and precautions, and ask you to sign the agreement.

Transfers from Miyako Airport, Hirara Port or hotels require advance enquiry. Confirm availability, coverage and any charges with the branch.

Included equipment

• All vehicles are non-smoking.

• Bluetooth, USB, phone holder and reversing camera.

• Navigation is fitted to some vehicles only and maps may be outdated. Please prepare a smartphone map app.

Insurance and protection

Standard protection and optional Anshin and Comprehensive plans are offered. Choose one additional plan only and select one unit for each rental day.

• Standard protection: unlimited third-party bodily-injury and property cover, plus personal-injury cover up to JPY 30 million per person. Property-damage deductibles, vehicle damage, towing and loss-of-use charges may remain payable.

• Anshin protection: reduces the customer's liability for vehicle damage and towing. Single-vehicle accidents are excluded and loss-of-use charges remain payable. Check the applicable amounts and exclusions in the rental agreement.

• Comprehensive protection: covers vehicle damage including single-vehicle accidents, towing and loss-of-use charges. Rental-agreement exclusions and accident-reporting requirements still apply.

For a child or junior seat, enquire before booking about availability and the total charge.

Rental period, fuel and return

• Select a one-to-eight-day plan counting both collection and return dates. Collection on the 10th and return on the 12th is a three-day, two-night rental.

• For nine days or more, select the eight-day/seven-night plan and add one extra-day option unit for every day beyond eight.

• Choose the extra-day option for your departure date. Select the high-season item for extra dates from 26 December 2026 to 5 January 2027, and the ordinary item for other dates.

The vehicle is supplied with a full tank. Refill it before returning. Fuel is not included; returning without refuelling may result in a more expensive distance-based charge.

Accidents and assistance

Drive on the left in Japan. Slow down on narrow roads and leave enough clearance between the left mirror and roadside obstacles.

If an accident occurs, help anyone injured, report to the police, obtain the other party's details and contact the rental branch. Report minor contact or scratches too. Assistance is available by phone, email, LINE or KakaoTalk.

Booking changes and extensions

Contact the branch before changing a booking or extending a rental. Extensions depend on the next booking and incur additional charges.
